Food Holidays

food holidays

Food holidays are observed almost every day of the year. Some of these special days are created by local, state, and federal government proclamations. Other holidays are declared by associations, charities, non-profit organizations, and businesses. Most holidays are celebrated on the same day each year, while others are celebrated on a different day such as the “first Friday” of a particular month. Occasionally these special holidays move from being celebrated on a specific day to a different day.

In addition to food holidays celebrating a specific type of food on a particular day, there are week long and month long celebrations as well. Many of these food holidays have been celebrated for decades.

In addition to foods being celebrated, there are many cocktails that enjoy a special observance.

Food holidays are a fun way to plan parties and meals, and to introduce new foods to friends and family. The vast majority of these celebrated foods can be prepared from scratch in the comfort of your own kitchen.
